Ben Stokes given 85.7% chance of winning SPOTY following Ashes heroics

After making one of their biggest Test performances yesterday england cricketer Ben Stokes is currently as brief as 1/6 to be crowned Sports Personality of the Year 2019.
Those odds mean some bookmakers are suggesting an 85.7% probability Stokes scoops the individual accolade at December.
Having a whopping 91.7% of stakes available on the market in the last 24 hours, he’s unsurprisingly definitely the most endorsed.
The had one hand on the prize in England’s dramatic World Cup because of his amazing contribution win at the end of May.
But, yesterday his extraordinary 135 not-out single-handedly (with a bit of assistance from his bespectacled sidekick Jack Leach) rescued England’s Ashes campaign at Headingley.
Australia had the momentum after lunch and if Stokes’ partnership with Jonny Bairstow was introduced to a sudden end, all seemed lost for England.
Placing on a last wicket stand of 76 runs to complete a record 359 run chase, Stokes struck on 74 of the runs, such as an adventuresome switch-hit six.
The Ashes series is now tied 1-1 and Stokes has written his own name into the history books with one of the most astonishing man performances in game.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson:”After Ben Stokes hammered that final four fist rose moments before the whole nation jumped to its feet.
“He has had the English faithful in the hands of his hand all summer, and yesterday’s antics have catapulted him from cricketing hero to something similar to a legend of English sport. If Freddie Flintoff was worthy of SPOTY in 2005, they might too donate it to Ben Stokes now.”
